Podcasts
Podcast is a hugh subject. So many things have been put into podcasts, anywhere from books, movies, tv series, and much more. I believe that podcasts have a hugh future ahead. It is a great way for someone to listen to a book if they are blind, driving a car, doing housework, or many different things.
Podcast can also be used for advertising your library, showing special events that you will be having, and maybe someday storytime with podcast so the children that could not attend could enjoy a good story.
Podcast could be used for training different subjects also. Podcast has so many different advantages it is hard to name them all. You could have a class just covering podcast.
Even MSNBC now podcast news.

You're right about podcasts being very diverse and difficult to cover in one lesson. But I think the point was for you to come away with some idea of the potential which you certainly did!
If you're interested we might try to get a podcasting interest group together at MLA to look at possibilities and areas for concern.
